GE and Rolls-Royce announce new IoT data partners

The major players in the Industrial Internet of Things are signing up a wide variety of technology partners to enable their visions of automation and big data, but many of these are coming from the IT arena, leaving mobile operators and vendors on the sidelines.

Two new examples involve GE, which has added Oracle to its market-defining and increasingly broad Industrial IoT platform; and fellow heavy industry manufacturer Rolls-Royce, which is partnering with Microsoft.
